As you may or may not have seen or heard me mention, I am now working as a Virtual Assistant and social media manager part-time around college. I have been receiving quite a few questions recently about all things VA, therefore I thought today would be a perfect chance for me to answer all your questions! What is a Virtual Assistant?
Great question! A Virtual assistant (abbreviated to VA) is generally an individual who works from home to provide professional administrative, technical, or creative (social) assistance to business owners, bloggers and individuals. Most VA’s also choose to specialise in a certain area since this job title covers such a broad spectrum! My specialist area is Marketing, particularly via social media!
What do you do?
As I mentioned above, Virtual assisting can be provided in a whole host of different ways, so no VA does it all. I specialise in assisting with fellow bloggers websites, social media, online resumè sites, etc… Please be aware this is just a guideline, if you have a service in mind thats not listed, please ask me!
Do I need to hire an assistant? Why can’t I do these things myself?
So the hard reality is, we all have seven days in a week and twenty-four hours in a day. The question is, do you want to spend that time continually making progress and pushing towards your goals, or do you want to spend it doing tedious, repetitive jobs and seeming to never getting to the end of your exceedingly long to-do list? At the end of the day, your are the business or website owner, you are the one that created it – shouldn’t you get to be the one to push it forwards and help it to reach each stage? Outsource your mundane and non-crucial tasks to a VA and let them handle it!
For me, It’s just a no brainer. There’s no point in working yourself into the dirt, when you could be letting someone else assist and sharing the load equally.

There are so many benefits to hiring a VA that I could go on all day, however, I’m sure you get the idea.
How does it work?
I can’t speak for all the other VA’s out there, however for me, I like to make use of facilities you already have access to on your computer. I use Google Drive to share files, documents, graphics and pictures with my clients. By doing this it is easy for you to keep track and approve each of the tasks I do for you. Since I work with many different clients and am also juggling being a student, I don’t accept phonecalls or video chats, however, I am always able to be contacted via email or Instant message. I get back to you within 24 hours and will always keep you posted on projects.
